She has held full registration with the General Medical Council since 2007. She did two years of surgery in different London hospitals before pursuing the specialist training in General Practice at Kent, Surrey, and Sussex (KSS) Deanery in 2011.

Dr Behnam finished her GP training in 2014 and has been working in both NHS and private sector since then.
